The whole process seemed strange to me for several reasons. Again, nothing by US mail, but exactly 2 weeks later (on May 10th) I received an email that said I was approved. They told me I would receive their decision in "1 to 2 weeks by US mail". I called for reconsideration on April 26th and spoke with a rep. They said I would receive the reason by US mail, but it was posted to my online account under the "Statements and Documents" tab that night. I applied for the Chase Hyatt card on April 24th and was declined. I wonder if anyone else has ever gotten an email saying Chase would contact them via US Mail, but then Chase contacted them via email? Anyway, it will be interesting to see how long it takes. Also, I logged into my account and traced down the main menu to 'Application status', and all it says is, " You may have active applications not shown here and could have received communications from us about those applications." I'm in no hurry, so I have not made any phone calls. Today's mail has come (May 12), and still no communication from Chase. My FICO 8 dropped 8 points immediately to 786 from the hard pull (HP for all you myFICO readers that prefer acronyms - LOL). Our email or letter will include instructions on how to provide additional information or documentation if needed."Ībout a minute later, I recieved an email that said, " We have received your request for a Chase credit card. It said, "We'll let you know our decisison in writing as soon as we can. After submitting, I was taken to the "Thanks for applying" screen that showed that my application status was "In review". I applied online logged into my existing Chase account. My FICO 8 that day was 794, and they pulled Experian. On the morning of May 3, I decided to apply for the Chase Freedom Flex.
